Psychiatry
Our research covers the major psychiatric disorders, and is based on a gene-environment interaction model where psychiatric conditions are considered to arise due to an interplay between biological, psychological and social risk factors. The ultimate goal is to improve mental health for both the individual and within society as a whole.
Our research questions often arise from the clinical setting and are addressed in clinical, experimental and epidemiological studies, often in collaboration with other researchers at Uppsala University, but also at other national and international universities and research institutes. Several studies involve evaluation of new methods for diagnostics and treatment, and are conducted in close partnership with health care.
